Joe's passion for planning and helping clients work toward retirement independence has arisen from his extensive experience in the financial services and consulting industry. Joe understands that sound financial decision-making requires objective, customized strategies to help protect, build, and transfer his clients’ wealth.
At the beginning of his career, Joe focused on tax consulting with individuals and families, which reinforced his desire to help people solve their complex financial issues. Through the years, Joe has helped dozens of individuals, couples and families pursue their goal of retirement security and financial independence. He particularly enjoys seeing clients gain a sense of confidence and knowledge about their path to long-term financial security. His areas of specialization include designing customized investment strategies that respond to the clients’ unique financial condition, comprehensive financial planning, and tax minimization strategies within investing.
Joe grew up in Atlanta and graduated from Emory University with a BA in accounting and Georgia State University with a Masters of Taxation. While working for the global accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand, he achieved certification as a CPA in Georgia. Subsequently, he obtained the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®)designation.
Joe's corporate experience includes 14 years as a finance executive with two of California's most prominent health and personal lines insurance companies. He has provided advisory services to individuals and families for over 15 years.

Joe currently splits his time between San Francisco and Palm Springs, California with his partner of 24 years, Bernard. They share a passion for helping dogs in need of a home, and have adopted many dogs through the years - currently having Annie, Lucky and Roxx. Joe and Bernard are proud supporters of organizations such as Humane's Society and ASPCA, including local charitable causes such as Desert Animal Samaritans SPCA, Napa Wildlife Rescue and Tiger Creek to help abandoned and abused tigers. In addition to frequent dog walking, in his spare time Joe enjoys running, mountain biking and traveling to visit his family and friends back east.
